Meliovate Systems is a beekeeping platform and IoT ecosystem created by Oszkár Köteles, a beekeeper with more than 30 years of experience, and operated by AGENCITY VIDEO MARKETING S.R.L. in Bilghez, Sălaj, Romania. The family beekeeping business keeps an average of 200–300 colonies and turned its own field experience into software and hardware.

How we got
here.
May 1987. I was five months old when I was first among bees in an acacia forest. More than thirty years have passed since then — among 200–300 colonies, year after year. For us, beekeeping is not an occupation. It is a way of life.
In 2003 we switched to Buckfast bees — this was a change of mindset, not just a breed change. In 2006 I founded my own apiary; from 2010 my wife and I have developed it together. Between 2016 and 2018 we developed our own stimulation system — which you can now know as MSM-1. Not from a textbook: from field experience, mistakes, results.

On April 3, 2025 I woke up with severe abdominal pain. Ambulance, emergency, CT — then helicopter to Cluj, to the cardiology hospital. The first diagnosis was life-threatening. Five days in intensive care, then long weeks of rest, zero physical work. Beekeeping as it had been was over.
During the forced rest I racked my brain: what could I do? I tried a YouTube channel, courses — small community, nothing big. I looked for online work — nothing. What I had prepared for my whole life, I could not do. Then in November the idea came.

I started in December 2025. I am not a programmer — I work with AI, first with Gemini, then with Claude. Six months later a complete platform stands before me: software, backend, 8 IoT devices, academy. All from a beekeeper, for beekeepers.
It was going to be called BeeMaster — but an American beekeeping forum already had that domain name. Something unique, free, globally available was needed. So it became Meliovate. Own IG, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok handle, .io and .com domain. One platform, full online presence.
Today we raise and deliver Buckfast queens to Hungary. The platform continues to grow. In the future: own hives, pollen traps, mating nucs, Buckfast queen cells — a complete beekeeping ecosystem, with own manufacturing, CNC precision. This is Meliovate Systems.

May 1987
First encounter — in an acacia forest
In May 1987, at five months old, I was first among bees — in an acacia forest. I did not choose it. Beekeeping chose for me.
2003
Buckfast — a change of perspective
We switched to Buckfast bees. Calm, productive, manageable colonies — this breed changed our beekeeping mindset.
2006
Own apiary
I founded my own apiary. An average of 200–300 colonies, with continuous development and field experience.
2010
Together, with my wife
My wife and I began developing the apiary together. From then on, every achievement — and every difficulty — has been shared.
2016–18
Own stimulation system
Two years of experimentation, many mistakes and learnings. The result: a proven, personal stimulation method. The conceptual predecessor of the MSM-1.
Apr 2025
Life stops
On April 3rd I was airlifted to the cardiology hospital in Cluj. Serious diagnosis, intensive care unit. Zero physical work — beekeeping as I knew it was over.
Nov 2025
The idea is born
During the forced rest the idea came: I will build the platform every beekeeper needs. If I cannot work physically, I will build the future.

Development begins
I started. I am not a programmer — I work with AI, first with Gemini, then with Claude. Every day learning. Every day progress.
May 2026
Six months — full system
Six months after starting: complete software platform, 8 IoT hardware devices, stable backend, API. Buckfast queens already delivered to Hungary. This is just the beginning.

Who founded Meliovate?

When did development start?
The idea was born in November 2025 and development began in December 2025. Six months later the platform, a stable backend and eight IoT hardware devices were in place.
Why is it called Meliovate?
The platform was first going to be called BeeMaster, but that domain name was already taken by an American beekeeping forum. The founders chose Meliovate: unique, free and available worldwide.
What else does the company do?
Besides the platform, the apiary raises Buckfast queens and delivers them to Hungary. Planned additions are own hives, pollen traps, mating nucs and queen cells, produced in-house.
